Illinois didn't deserve to win this game. For some reason, probably because they placed heavy bets on Illinois, the refs refused to call a foul on Illinois in the final 5 minutes, despite their numerous hackings and rapings of Arizona players. The refereeing was disgraceful. The only reason this wasn't highlighted during the broadcast was that Illinois was the media darling team that year, so they were all happy with the outcome, no matter how undeserving the Illini were.

Yes, I remember Dewey Williams. It is possible, obviously, that players could cheat to get some extra scratch in their pockets. This is simply not the case in this game. Read BostonKrab's post below. The Wildcats were down by like 10 points with 5 minutes to go. They came storming back and Horne was one of the players doing damage. If he, or any other player had been keeping the game under 144.5 they would have not played the way they did at the end.

I bet the majority of the people calling for a fixed game on the O/U only watched this clip and didn't even know Arizona was down by 14 in the second half. They only see the .5 pt difference. Get over it. Instead of laying down after being down 14, Horne (one player in question for shaving) scored 8 points after that fact. Wouldn't he think that would be cutting it pretty close with such high stakes on the line? And Fogg only played 6 minutes. I doubt anyone went to him to fix a game.

Your right, he should have known better. The coaching staff also should have yelled at all the players in the previous timeout: "WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T FOUL!" This is obvious. However, if you know the story of UofA basketball in the last 13 months, if you knew that Jammele only came back to UofA to play for Lute Olson, if you knew the background of the coaching change, the defections, the turmoil surrounding the team... my guess is you would not jump to the conclusion of point shaving.

Okay, impressive in pure volume. Fine. However, their terrible tone quality and intonation and apparent even on Youtube. SunDevil, the hype is about the idea that they are playing alternative stuff, rather than the quality of their performance. Yes! Exactly right herbs4mike. Unfortunately, most of the posters here think that good/great/best marching band = cool music that they like, rather than quality sound and marching. The blasting edgy tone, high-dominated/unbalanced sound, and inconsistent M&M is characteristic of Rees' bands.

I cannot believe you would judge a marching band's sound based on a youtube video. This isn't exactly blue-ray. Don't care much for the "Alternative Music Marching Band" idea because most rock songs don't translate well to marching band arrangements. However, I saw this band do a Smashing Pumpkins show about a decade ago, and they were ear-splittingly loud! I mean jet noise loud. It was impressive!
