well that, and if you think about how often their lives are threatened and the fact that Doctor #2 can now die, it really wouldn't be practical them traveling and running for their lives again. Wow, great they did not choose this one, its too overdramatic and overstaged and prithcy and it has to be left for soap operas - the symbolness of the moment - she was there when young and now old returning into the same scene. The original ending is much more powerful, because there aren't any words and pritching there, and when its all in the eyes of actors, music and moment rather then putting it in words and chewing it down to tiny pieces, its so much more powerful!!! LOVE LOVE THE MOVIE!

I like the Donna bit, but I think the ending they gaves us is more emotional and tragic in that the Donna we knew is dead :(.... she's back to being regular Donna from before Runaway Bride, she'll never know how special she was...not a fan of the Cybermen bit, I think The Next Doctor will probably take place a long time after the events of Journey'e End, Donna was too special to get a "What?" ending...god, I love this show...lol

I have to say I'm glad they didn't go with this. It was nice to see it end on a proper somber note for once. The intrusion of the x-mas special on the final moments of the season finale always kind of irked me. I know he never gets a moment's pause to process, but I just like him being alone with the Tardis at the end. She really is his most faithful companion. . .oh crap.

engma032889 not only does the real ending have Kirk die in a bad (bridge) pointless way (to the story) it also shows Picard in a weak way. 1) he doesnt use the nexus to stop Soran before he even gets to the planet (saving the Enterprise and making Kirk's death unnecessary-read pointless) 2) he cant fight Soran 3) he doesnt use the nexus to save his family AND stop Soran before he gets to the planet. Kirk died and Picard could not save him. 2 captains look bad.
