Well it doesn't have to have anything to do with the NHS. Most people here don't have insurance that covers orthodontic work. We pay for it out of pocket. Brits may be less vain, but I don't think you can claim you lack pride. Although I would agree that there seems to be more of a value placed on modesty there.

Yeah and a majority of british people brush their teeth at least twice a day just like everyone else too. No, its one tooth slightly sideways, only noticable if i point it out. no point in fixing that. i guess as a nation we aren't too vain. unless something will cause serious problems i'd say most people wouldn't put the drain on the National Health Service. Vanity and pride are just something we lack i think.

After you got hit, did you fix your teeth so they were perfect? Brits aren't BORN with worse teeth than anyone else. But, for example, the orthodontic industry is much larger in North America and fast growing in Europe, more so than in the UK. But really my general point was just that I find it odd that unlike American celebs, Brits don't seem to find it necessary to have perfect teeth. When it comes to Canadians you met, they weren't our best, but it doesn't get much better sadly!
