I was raving between 1991 and 1996. I did all the best parties - Universe, Fantazia, Vision, Dreamscape, Castlemorton - but this World Dance on the 5th Feb 94 was the best party I ever went to. It was my birthday on the 6th so it was extra special. I took in five White Doves, double dropped as soon as I got in there. Found a spot on one of the big dance platforms,danced solidly for eight hours, had an out of body experience, before being carried out in the morning, delirious. Thank God for E. Jx

I agree..this was and still is a HUGE dance anthem. If released again it would surely be massive although the track has NEVER gone away. A rarity for a dance tune these days. Altern8 may not be geniuses and I've heard all the elements they use in their tunes before but I happen to like the way they've put them together, even if it does feel like the musical equivalent of junk food sometimes - I still manage to listen to incredibly atmospheric, complicated "intelligent" music also :) I always thought the way they acted (dust-masks etc.) was down to having a sense of humour but I imagine that it's hard to pick up on that if you don't have one.

Nice one Hx. . .I went to the Eclipse in Coverntry from 1990, the first one I went to was the Omen. . .Last went on New Years Eve, Amnesia House 93/94 before it got demolished, mind you by that time the rave scene went all pear shaped with drum and bass. . .Bring back the raving years 89-92!!! Ha ha i founded the Eclipse in 1989 although i opened the club in 1990,i am considering doing a one off ,just for the hell of it,20 years ago the police said it was a fad! The problem with the dance music today is complexity. Just too many tracks out there have layers over layers, endless sequences and hyper polished sound totally lacking the rawness. Technology has evolved like crazy but somehow the electronic music has lost something during the time.

the beuty of this track is that it was made for one thing...and one thing only to dance to. Carl Cox recently dropped this at a gig and believe me, it tore the roof off like you wouldnt believe. Up there with "Sweet Harmony" as a modern classic for sure. Todays producers should look at how all the elements of this track combine flawlessly and take note - cos tunes today are nowehere near as good as this. Stood the test of time? DEFINATELY!
