Thank you Bwana. You know this is one of the few things I have succesfully done that is remotely related to IT. It worked great with Windows XP and the latest version of iTunes. It did work slightly differently for me in that I found the file in my Library's 'Music' folder from which I simply dragged it into the Ringtones folder under Devices. I hope this snippet of info helps others. In the mean time thanks again Bwana that was cool.

WOW! totally works! In windows the option under right clicking the song is "Show in Windows Explorer" then change the extension from 'm4a' to 'm4r' before you delete it in iTunes and then it puts up an exclamation mark if you try and play it and thinks it's missing, then delete it and double click it in windows explorer

That's because under your iTunes preferences under importing you are using the MP3 encoder. If you use the AAC encoder it will appear as the vid says. Once you have made your ringtone you can change it back to the MP3 encoder. Hope this helps.

Automatically appear the file next to original song. Now go to original file to cahnge m4a to m4r. after that make new folder to put all the ring tone there and import to Itune Ringtone library. conect to Iphone. That`s it . thank you for reading. Thak you for the video!! Some people doesn`t work from that right?? Why don`t you guy use Itune to make ring tone!?!? open Itune then whatever you like the song right click to open property. go to Option there is you can chose start time and finish time.(make sure tick the box for remenber the choose time) just type where do you want to start and finish the time click okay. go back to the libraly and right click the one you choose music again then change to AAC when you done it.

THIS WORKS, BUT IS MISSING SOME IMPORTANT INFO: 1. The song must be under 30 seconds (right click on song, options tab, change end time to 00:00:30). Do this before converting to AAC. 2. You must drag and drop the clip into the ringtones section in itunes, or Add File to Library. 3. Once the file is in the ringtones list, change the name BACK to .m4a or else it will not show up once you are in your phone. Hope this helps people who were having trouble. THANKS MATT!
