You can ONLY do clutchless upshifts, and when done right they will not harm your transmission any more than how much your clutch and transmission gets worn from regular shifting.

i have a 2001 gixxer and you know on the new models it shows you the gear you're on but im just wondering if the shifting pattern it's still the same? because i saw on the gears that it also had the gear 0 which is neutral i know but is the pattern still 1st, 0, 2nd, 3rd, 4rd, 5th, 6th. or is it 0, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4rd, 5th, 6th? this might be a dumb question but i might buy the new gixxer but it will all depend on the shifting patter. if you can send me a comment or a message back please.THANKS

I'v heard you can do that for shifting up but you will ruin your bike if you dont clutch wile shifting down. heard from a friend of a friend of a friend.. so look into it befor you do :)

i'm a beginner driver and don't know much. When i up shift, sometimes I just let off the throttle and shift without using the clutch. it seems to work just fine, but am i ruining my bike when i do this? What are the pro/cons of not using the clutch for upshifting? It seems like its rough on the clutch and gear box, but it is a lot faster than pulling the lever for every gear. I know for down shifting you have to, else the wheel might lockup. Thanks

Thanks for the great video. I've been driving stick for about 7 years now and I'll be in San Francisco for the next three years. I've been thinking about purchasing a motorcycle for my daily commute within SF and I was wondering how feasible it would be for someone like me to switch over? Is riding easier to pick up with prior knowledge of driving stick? It seems like you're in the riverside area, but could you comment on congestion and the ability to ride in a city like San Francisco?

Also on a zx 10 you can ride it in 6th gear doing 25 and still keep up with traffic(not that u would want to). so its not a big deal when u shift up. I would say between 4k and 6k rpm 5k and 7k rpm going up steep hill hill.

nice vid. that looks like a ninja zx10. I have an 88 zx10. I sometimes hit neutral when shifting and I have been riding a long time.. so I'm sure it can be daunting to learn how to ride a bike. when slowing down make sure people know to let out the clutch slowly in first gear. If your going too fast your tire might slide.

The best thing to do is to hold the clutch and shift down as many gears as possible before u hit the light, you dont necesarily have to be in 1st gear to stop completly. What I do is if I dont have the time to shift it down to 1st gear and i am at a light..just shift it down until u reach 1st...again nothing happens if you are on 6th gear then all of a sudden u have to break, but at least shift down 2 or three times and after u stop at the light shift down the remaining gears...hope this helps..

Sometimes when the light catches you, you wont have time to panic stop and downshift at the same time so in emergencies just hold in clutch lever (left hand) and keep it held in while braking and just forget about downshifting. However if its not a panic stop you can downshift smoothly as you approach.

Unfortunately I don't think the test method really works. Since the rotation depends on acceleration, stacking the devices while rotating guarantees that they receive different inputs. Note when the phones are rotated when switching to the camera. They both respond at exactly the same time. Why? Because they were rotated the same way. In every case the rotation is the same if the phones are rotated the same way.

Lo de que la crisis estaba por llegar sí que era cierto.. sino a santo de qué iban los Estados Unidos a invadir Iraq? Problemas con el petróleo, luego dicen que el oro del mundo se acaba, y esto nos trae problemas de todo tipo... Hay que mentir al ciudadano como se pueda y como sea. este video da fe a lo q muchos pensabamos, todo esto fue una treta para justificar la invasion a los pueblos del medio oriente con su "floro de Salvaguardar la paz mundial" esto no es mas q en Sed extrema por el petroleo, puesto q precisamente EE.UU es el pais q mas petroleo consume en el mundoy las grandes reservas del crudo estan en el medio oriente, primero fue afganistan, luego irak, ahora viene iran...y no tardara mucho tb en invadir venezuela! ojo con ello e!
