This trailer of Shenmue for the Sega Dreamcast was featured in the November 2000 issue of the Official Dreamcast Magazine. This trailer is fantastic because it shows all of the different game play functions Shenmue has to offer.
Shenmue continues to have a large cult following and its fans continue to wait anxiously for Sega and Yu Suzuki to finish the saga.

Shenmue looks more average in graphics than it did in 2000 next to 360/PS3 today, but the game is still the best ever. I was particularly responding to the comment you made about RPGs. They are all killing someone or things. I'm so bored of these scenarios. I'm lucky that I've just bought a Dreamcast in Aug '08 with essential VGA cable with Shenmue I and Shenmue II. (less than £70 off ebay). This christmas I will be playing Shenmue II. Started to play II and it looks awesome.

A very flawed game but way ahead of its time. It never got the credit it deserved in how its influenced games that came after it. And it's also regretful that it is one of the few games that attempted to have a more modern, serious open world setting and storyline without being some kind of shooter derivative.

Still worth buying a Dreamcast, Ebay £20. Shenmue I and II £25-£30 and of course a VGA cable from ebay USA £15-20. Shenmue I the best game I've ever played. Shenmue II is also the best game I've ever played. And I'm nearly 40 and seen countless RPGs.

Shenmue 2 sucked but I loved it, that's the charm of this game With all those resources throw in, just fucking make Shenmue 3 already. I cannot understand why as an ingenious GAME as shenmue 1 & 2 a success did not have, I think because of lack-end advertisement. if shenmue with dreamcast in the delivery package posed to the sales who, who would have it certainly differently, a giant success, and many it known. final fantasy has also much is also good success, because many know it.

Excellent, I'd do that for fun but for fear of being locked up by court order. Very witty video. If only Sega would make Shenmue 3 for pc/360/ps3 and bundle it with the two prequel installments, then everyone would know what a really absorbing 3rd person adventure story could be. Shenmue is much more appealing than the shoot or be killed themes that are the mainstay even on todays console. Its a shame we haven't seen a game with such a touching and memorable storyline since.

Who came up with this? there's no way to emulate the Dreamcast at full speed using the PSP! I mean the PSP only has 133mhz more of CPU than the Dreamcast itself and it only has 16mb more of ram...the PSP would have to be at least somewhere around 1-2ghz and have like 512mb of ram at least to run the emulator at decent speed.

Amazing, It must have taken alot of effort to make this emulator even running. I doubt we`ll ever see it running on full speed with sound, but with frameskip this might actually become playable one day. If not, "Chu chu rocket" is a still fun game:)

Respect due! Like everyone else smitten with Shenmue, I think we'd all be proud of a Shenmue Fresco in our lounge/dining room. Would look mind blowing in a cafe too or a museum art gallery. actually I read Shenmue 2 skipt the trip over on the boat that was one of the chapters that the creature wrote which would have been 2 I think but they went he Landed in China. I think if they bring Shenmue back make it on one of the next gen consoles and if they don't bring 3 and up remake it as a Shenmue Chronicles or whatever title where it is all 16 chapters into one game.

I think in me playing shenmue 4 ou 5 on my 60' and I think the history doesnt finish on shenmue 3, because the history have 16 chapters. shenmue 1 was chapter the 1 and shenmue 2 was the chapters 2, 3, 4, and 5. AND do you guys CAN LIVE yours lives knowing that shenmue had your last chapter after SEGA finish it one day?? When Shenmue have finished there is no more Shenmue. Great game but the Gameplay is sereously terrible which drags it down. the fighting sucks, the way he walks is like a robot and the voice acting is pretty bad. the only thing that makes up for it is the great story line. this could have been one of segas greatest game but as usual they screw it up and dissapoint the fans with not even making shenmue 3 after 7 years

Does anybody know where i would find this shenmue movie: It started with the camera panning around the ship that ryo takes to hong kong and it has this amazing music with this like a shaman tribesman singing. It must be about 6-7 years old and its a long movie with loads of shenmue 2 in it BUT I CANT FIND IT ANWHERE! HELP! I think it was recorded off of a T.V in the street in japan?

every picture he showed the reason it looks like the areas of the game particulary aberdeen is because it is this is the city of aberdeen, Hong Kong if am not mistaken and that is where yu suzki got his ideas for the first level of shenmue 2! I really like ur idea TerraHuman! But I think if they did this they Should simply name it "Shenmue" that includes every chapter of the game and re-made with Yu Suzuki back to direct it and exclusivly make it for the Playstation 3 system in 1080P than I would say I died and gone to heaven! Just imagine the Cell Broadband Engine computing all the people on screen and scenery etc. etc.!

ROFL! Wicked lol xD Maan I loved Shenmue.. So immersive.. Back then on games like that Graphics didnt matter (Even though the graphics were stunning on them anyway :P) because the game was amazingly good. I really do hope the third will get released. and yes I am going to buy them if they get ported to the Wii (My Dreamcast met an untimely end long ago lol) Shenmue - Not a game like it.. nor will there ever be.. shenmue1&2 was on dreamcast then they ported 2 on original xbox then planned shenmueonline for 360 but didnt work , no budget and the poor sales of 2 on xbox cuased cancellation, but i hate them for not releasing it on the playstation if it was im difinatly 100% sure it would sold millions,
