I had an intel core with over heating issues turns out the heatsink had come off. currently it appears that the heatsink on intel core series cpus with the stupid turny things do come off sometimes in transit. AMDs run hotter as both sides of the chip are used. pros are amd are cheaper cons are they run hotter. An interesting yet irrelevant test.

what a piss off that the phenoms dont idle under 5 watts (like 3 watts or something) if hey did they would be revolutionary in terms of power efficiency and performance and i would gladly pay a couple hundred for one, but theyre not. idle state efficiency is the most important b'cause the processor spends more time in idle doing squat than not, why should we need fans as loud as hair dryers, and waste money for power drainage for a chip thats doing nothing, whats up with that.

no one of both companies offer a well backward compatibility. Intel doesnt change his socket but he change several times the chipset, for examples the new 45nm does not have compability with older chipset like 965 or 975 despite to have the same socket. I'm currently using AMD Dual core 3800+ and was extremely pissed off when they all of a sudden dropped the entire 939 series in favour of the 940 series. Now it's impossible to upgrade unless I change most of my system! Intel however have stayed faithful to the same socket 775 enabling easier upgrades. Fuck AMD, I'm now going back to Intel because god knows what will happen when the AM3 chips arrive, maybe all you're kit will be redundant again!!

Lads these things are great until you gig with them, good recording tool but it simply doesnt compare to an all valve audio chain. Use the money to buy a good Rivera, Mesa, Fender or similar. I have the Prophesy, Boss GT 10, Roland VG 99, Line 6 Vetta 2.. All great fun and incredible technology but they sound like a toy in comparison... Just my opinion but for this amount of money you should at least do an A/B test!

Do you use it with a midi/switch board? I was wondering about the smoothness of switching between patches/presets mid-song. I know alot of the multi-effects pedalboards have the "mute" problem when switching effects...

I run this pre-amp into a Mesa 395 stereo power amp and a 4x12" Mesa EVM 12L loaded cabinet. I don't think I could get a better combination. If you don't all the money for a Prophesy the try the Rocktron Voodu Valve it's almost as good.

I have gt-8 and it has all I will ever need. Difference between 8 and 10 is not so big that you should pay more money and buy gt-10. You won't be needing anything else if you buy gt-8, Of course if you have a lot of extra money, then you should go and buy gt-10.:D

Best part of this video is.... The push pins part...that was not even all the way in. Crappy Intel video refuses to show how much of a pain it really is to get those damn push pins in. BTW tip for anyone using push pins...put a roll of tape under each pin you push in and use a screw driver will ensure you don't bend your board and will allow you to put more pressure to get them in.

I only sound like I know what I am talking about because I worked for a company that assembled cell phones and they used Electrostatic Discharge countermeasures. There, they never had 'wirelesss' wrist straps. The straps they used were always grounded to the workstations. That and we wore ESD smocks and boot straps. My guess and it is a complete guess, is that the 'wirelss' straps should not be used.

No, the gloves are mainly to keep oils from skin off of parts, though it does help a little with static. You would/should still use a wrist strap as well. The guys smock also prevents static buildup/discharge as well. I even bet he has some anti static boot straps as well.
