I have been using linux with WINE (WINDOWS EMULATION) it runs better than the reel one lol I used to 3D modeling on Blender it never crashed, I try my work on the reel windows is frozed up right away and app switch off itself... i actually thought that this was justified. i have used parallels on my 2.4ghz 2gb of ram macbook and whilst its incredible and very practical its actually so slow i wouldnt consider using it for any real applications. in coherence mode on xp, msn by itself gets both cores running around 80% and takes up 70% of my ram. i guess i just dont mind this video cos im looking into vmware-not wanting to hear how slow parallels is. take that as a word of warning everyone-parallels is dog slow.

I have tried both Parallels and VMware Fusion. VMware Fusion is superior to Parallels in everyway. I used Parallels first then tried VMware Fusion. Boy, im glad i did. I will never go back to Parallels...ever. If havent tried VMware Fusion before, i highly recommend you do so. Its faster, its integration with OS X is no much nicer and more efficient. Their Unity mode is killer. Also, if you want to run Linux, Parallels is the worst. Its a joke. Try VMware Fusion...you will be glad you did.

I tried this program and it sucked big time. I had to change my IP parameters to get onto the internet when running windows and once I got that working I couldn't get on the net on my Mac anymore. I heard the VMWare version is better but after spending money on parallels I am a bit discouraged.

Boot Camp and Parallels/VMware are two whole different things. Boot Camp is free with Leopard and lets you install Windows XP or Vista on a seperate partition for use with Dual Booting. When you start your Mac up you hold down a key to choose which OS you want to use. This way the OS can 100% access the hardware, even the videocard. Parallels/VMware let you install them in a 'virtual machine' inside OS X.

Haha interesting hearing you say that. I am a fan of the Cookie Monster grr bear voice, but Yes holds a very dear place in my heart. They're just incredible. No other way to put it. Totally out of this world. Apparently 3 years ago they did a warm up gig at the theater where I work now here in Washington state. I lived in Germany at the time, but my boss got to meet them. He asked them about how they came up with some of their wonkier ideas. The response was unanimously "Lots of drugs, man" :D

I grew up listening to my brother's YES 8-tracks. This will always be one of my most favorite albums. Such a musical masterpiece. Bands these days, especially the Cookie-Monster metal types prevalent these days, wish they could write something like this. I was at this show in Glasgow on a very cold night in 1977. I bunked off college to try to catch the band going into the Apollo for their sound check. Managed to to talk to Alan White and Steve Howe when they got off the tour bus - got Steve's autograph on my college notes. Still have it to this day. [part 2/2] Thus, Windows XP won't show up in the Software panel, because you didn't install XP on your computer in the first place, you installed in on the virtual machine. If you want to get rid of your virtual Windows XP, you simply delete the virtual machine and the virtual hard disk file. I hope that helps!

[part 1/2] It doesn't work like that. With VMWare, you basically make a separate virtual computer with a virtual hard disk file. Everything will be installed in the hard disk file, your real system will not be affected. So, if you install XP on a virtual machine, your real operating system is not affected. XP sits within the virtual hard disk and VMWare mounts this hard disk, so you can use it as a virtual computer.

After install on the first booting after restart BSOD appeared (I was feeling distressing at this time) but tried the second restart and it works but on 16 colors and the Display properties appeared. I selected the previous settings (so the graphic card drivers without VM Additions support) and it restarted without rebooting by going again by BIOS (only system reload) and finally, it works for me again but now on Virtual PC 2007! Thanks for this very nice tip to VPC Guy - Ben Armstrong!

On my previous comment to this video I tried to install in MS Virtual PC 2007 the VM Additions to Windows 95 but cannot be installed. So I searched Google for a help and found a site "vpc(dot)essjae(dot)com". I found that resources why VM Additions from VPC 2007 cannot be installed on a Windows 95 machine but also found an ISO Image of VM Additions from VPC 2004 so decided to install this older version.
