Listen to what this video says and what the actual song says, it fits together. he said there was racism (he didnt want to go into it because that was politics and then arguments would start, and he didn't want a debate). In the song it says that in the past racism was everywhere. (always pouring rain) adn that now it rains less (there is less racism) but it still rains. The part about the economy being involved in racims was another comment. if you listen to the song it makes more sence.

That doesn't make sense at all. No one person can say they "created" the "O&A Army". It's not like one day Anthony said "Hey guys, sign up and get your Opie and Anthony keychain, we'll throw in an O&A army bumper sticker as well!", it was a natural process that took place over the course of several years. By doing their mean spirit cringy show, they attracted a fanbase of socipaths who giggle uncontrollably at Connor Peterson references. They bred the pests just by doing the show.

It's funny because Bill and Patrice are my favorite 3rd mics, I love the different dynamics they bring. They were very successful before Jimmy came along, #1 in afternoons in New York. The show was still great when it was just Opie and Anthony. And the thing is, I happen to completely disagree with you. I find Opie to be the most entertaining of anyone. All the subtle things, all the small gags like the obnoxious fake laugh or the hang-up game, plus he comes up with almost all the bits.

Opie does all the things that you don't see that keeps the show moving so that others can jump in and be funny. He's constantly throwing bounce passes, throwing out ideas hoping that someone will grab onto it and pull out a great riff. Notice how whenever Anthony goes into an impression, Opie is constantly leading him and setting him up, throwing out ideas for him to work off of and bring the funny with. Opie is essential whether you realize it or not.

You don't understand how a radio show works. Do you think they just put DeNiro in front of a camera and a great movie is born? He needs a director. Opie creates the environment for Ant and Jimmy and all the comics to be funny. here was a show back in 2005 where Bill Burr was sitting in for Jimmy and a caller called up saying that Opie sucks, he's always moving on when Bill and Ant are in a riff, etc. So Opie stopped working and they spun out of control in literally less than a minute.

Dude almost every show they have, Opie never says anything funny. If he died it would be the Jimmy & Anthony show (J&A), and they would have a guy like Bob Kelly or Nick Depaolo in as the third guy. We would miss Opie just for his name, but it would be far more funny without him. One time when Anthony was not there, it was painful. It was Opie, Jimmy, and Patrice. It was really bad.
