Your above explanation is what the police submitted. Roy had marital problems, but was not divorced. His widow, Judy Buchanan, stated that she lifted the lid of his coffin & saw massive head wounds. Roy was most likely beaten to death by police or other guys in the lock-up. He had serious addiction problems & probably pissed of the wrong guy...but he didn't deserve to die.
