Yes, many religious people choose to believe what they believe but for just as many people it is a matter of how they were raised. Believing in what you were raised to believe provides a sense of security and stability, which is normal for every human to want. Also, there are different degrees and kinds of religiosity. So please don't generalize all religious people just because some of them (like the Westboro Baptist Church) are acting out, that's just as unfair as any stereotype is.

According to Pharaoh's Pump there was anearlier Pharoah who diverted part of the Nile south of Giza and created a huge Lake called "Moeris" (sp?). This water was then diverted by canal and sent directly down to Giza, and to feed their pumping system and then exhausted back into the Nile below the Pyramids.
