But they are just thinking of making the sideline referees video referees, which also i dont like, it would lose many jobs and there would be riots and other things, and besides sideline referees dont make as many mistakes as they dont get yelled at by the players as much, they only have to run in a line on half of the field, and only have to make fewer desicions. Thats why i think video referees are stupid. And thanks for that good point out HoratioCaine92

In a mma ring match if you are falling out of the ring the ref stops it and sets you up in the same position by the ropes. the guy obviously was in a more vulnerable position with his elbow down when stopped and was afraid to put it back were it was supposed to be. anybody who thinks what the father did was the right thing to do is a moron. its not like the ref was throwing and hitting the kid. he picked him up (ok, he came off the ground for a second) and im sure he told the kid not to kick the other players, trying to teach him the right way to play the game. he was just trying to straighten that kid out, something obviously his dad didnt do a very good job of doing. im with the ref on this one.

You can see on the video that kid was repeatedly kicking other players. One of the kids even puts his hands up to get the ref's attention to it. The ref grabbed the kid while he was in the motion of kicking another kid. It's called breaking up a fight, and the ref grabbed the only kid that was fighting. The ref didn't have time to throw a flag and it wouldn't have done anything anyway. He tried to break it up and then the kid's aggressive behavior towards the ref became the problem.

ok ok ok....ref should have been a little less forceful until/unless something actually started up. as far as I can tell, the father was not even as rough with the ref, as the ref had been with his son. All of this everyday parent-kid sport stuff aside...the funniest part was when the flag was thrown...priceless...hahha

i see the kid was shacking the other players off of him after he was down, but football is an aggressive sport and the only time the ref would have been able to do that is if there had been a fight between the players, but in this case there wasn't. The parent/coach, in his mind thought that the ref shouldn't have done that, and im pretty sure he is right, but violence isn't the answere.

Keep in mind this video is made for JUNIOR officials, reffing lower-level games. Indicating the type of foul at the point of infraction helps these young players learn what they did wrong, and also helps you communicate with your partner. TECHNICALLY, no, it is not advised, and I wouldn't recommend doing it in a AAAA game. But PERSONALLY, I would probably still do it at the younger ages. Remember, you want to do what is right for the game and the players- including helping them learn.

How I hate football "fans" judging the ref without having read the rules. Most soccer players for sure do not know all the rules, they've never read the book but learned from watching tv and listening to commentators who are ex-players and certainly not referees. the 1st one was a penalty for pulling of the shirt. And the red card is for denying a goal scoring opertunity. I see nothing wrong with the decision. I'm a Liverpool fan and I agree with you. This game is highly controversial not only because of the first penalty, but the strange way Clattenburg seems to kind of change his mind as Gerrard takes a walk past him while saying something to him. Besides, as you say, Gerrard held Hibbert as well as the episode started outside the penalty area. Everton should've had at least one penalty, I have to admit. Clattenburg shouldn't be the ref in the next derby

The umpire illegally interfered in a play, taking up a potential running lane and effectively functioning as a 12th man for LSU. It was intentional, and it came at a critical juncture in a game that South Carolina had a legitimate chance of winning. That play led to a 4th down.
