Marvin was shot by his father and Teddy was in a car accident. On March 18, 1982, Pendergrass was involved in an car accident when the brakes failed and he hit a tree. He was trapped for 45 minutes. He suffered a spinal cord injury leaving him a quadriplegic. Gaye was killed by his father, shot by his own gun -- a weapon he'd given his father for safety -- the day before his 45th birthday. It was a death fit for a Greek tragedy. You are right about one thing - Marvin deserves much respect!

I've been watching all these WONDERFUL MG pieces and Lord that man was a genius!!! I lost a lot of friends over in 'Nam and the police riots here in PHILA. The music tells the TRUTH and he was so RIGHT!!! My eyes are filled with tears. Listening today was like taking a time machine into the past. to all of you who talked about what marvin did or what his father did. these are the facts, Marvin is dead. His farther was convicted of killing him. when a person is in the house with a corps, remember the police and coroner decide what occured. I was there (at a death) and what was decided was not what actually happened. I beleive thr cops did the best that they could based on the evidence. So I beleive marvins mother knows the whole truth, but no one else but GOD.

Ironically, Gaye was killed by a gun he had offered to his father. Marvin Sr. was sentenced to six years of probation after pleading guilty to manslaughter. Charges of first-degree murder were dropped after doctors discovered Marvin Sr. had a brain tumor. Spending his final years in a retirement home, he died of pneumonia in 1998.

I've read that the film Sexual Healing is in production, and has been since around 2007, so it's either still being made, stalled for variuos or still in the baby stages. Hopefully it comes out sooner rather than later.... It's funny how Jesse L. Martin actually looks a little like Marvin in some of the pics I've seen, so it works out..
