And there is also the Hadith that draw upon the New Testament, often picking teachings out of other cultures where Islam set its foot etc. But when push comes to shove, authority rests with the Quran. And the Quran has not one kind word for the disbelievers, they must be converted or killed. Add to that the fact that Muslims aspire to memorize the Quran at childhood. Islam incorporates the teachings and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad which include treating people equally and that sort of thing. Islam does not promote senseless violence.
