Sorry... Your theory is wrong. Bits of the in-the-making song were used in "The Graduate", I believe. The main characters are Mrs. Robinson, and another much younger man. This puts into play the "Hide it from the kids," "God Bless you please Mrs. Robinson," and "Jesus loves you more than you will know." The Joe DiMaggio part was an added part when they finished the song. The Graduate also features "The Sound of Silence" and "Scarbourough/Canticle"

Im glad I watched this! I agree with what he has to say; students (like me) are effectively told what to do with our lives. I find that Creativity, aspiration and indivuality are but theories in todays world, especially in my country (NZ). The world needs to be treated against its Tall Poppy Syndrome - there are different ways of living than school/college/work-wife/kid-divorce/keep-working/force-your-kids-into-the-same-pattern-die. Aim a little higher, or in a complete different direction!

I dissagree- I observe teachers be mentors all day, with crowded classrooms and class plans dictated by state test outcomes. Most of them want to teach so badly, but until we change the "make them accoutable by testing the kids" idea, we will never give teachers the freedom to run their own classrooms.
