There were no NORAD excerises w/planes being crashed into buildings, nor any about planes being deliberately crashed, or multiple hijackings. CT's like to claim that NORAD was awash with excersises that day & that they interfered because the staff at NEADS couldn't tell fake from real. This simply isn't true. NORAD had 2 exercises (Timely Alert II, and Vigilant Guardian) and one actual operation (Operation Northern Vigilance) which was in response to Russian war games off the Alaskan coast.

Once you have saved a few lives with your radio skills no one is going to quibble about whether you have a license or not. that's an FIR camera (I think, infrared, not that expensive). it can detect heat. might want to look into max/msp- calibrate the screen/area it looks at (the camera) and have it scan across the pixels left to right in some multiple. I don't know how to put this- it's not that hard, and simply getting it to read the video screen to make a physical sequencer isn't that big of a deal. these people have work to do in making the sequencer itself interesting and different.

Good to see a decent bit of home construction - makes a nice change from 'black boxes'! I love dead-bug construction on copper-clad board - it's so much more sustainable than 8-layer PCBs, and the electrons are perfectly happy! Do you have plans to remove the redundant side-band?

Just watched the LTSpice demo, the one made with WINK. I am impressed with both the meta-information (I'm going to use wink myself), and the presentation about LTSpice. Go ahead and laugh, but wouldn't it be nice if there was a program that was an actual graphic-based workbench simulator? They have surgery simulations, why not a virtual soldersmoke generator? Click on the solder, click in the iron, small wisp of virtual smoke rises. I prefer the real thing, but...

Thanks for your comments. One aspect that really concerns me about BPL is its ability to blanket whole suburbs with broadband noise. I purposely left the alternator noise in the video. Originally I thought about trying to get rid of the alternator noise but realised it was a good reference. Fortunately, we no longer have the BPL problem as the power company made a decision in November 2007 to stop the trial and the BPL kit was removed from poles around Hobart in January 2008.

Another thing that obliterates shortwave, but to a lesser extent is cable modems, they load the whole house from 1800 kHz to 20 Mhz with what sounds like AC mains hum, I have to go outside with a Digital Voice Recorder to receive SSTV pictures. But your situation is MUCH worse. You can't even hear the alternator of the automobile, and you're right on top of it (car electronic QRM is REALLY LOUD, and BPL PLC in a far off house knocks it off the air). Ethernet cables kill shortwave too.
