Growing up in Terre Haute I had the great pleasure of going to every home game he played in except for one which turned out to be the only one they lost his 3 years there (to Creighton). Even got to play ball with him at the Boys Club one time. Black, white or other I miss the unorthodox style of one who can do the all-around things Bird could do. You never knew if it was going to be an awesome pass, a crazy shot or just a hot shooting night but you knew you would get something every night

Perhaps my example of people walking the streets smoking was a bit harsh. But people aren't forcing the sun on other people. If you go to a restaurant or pub or workplace and people are smoking, you can't not breathe. My grandfather died of emphysema. One of my friends smokes, and I'm damn scared for her. The next smoke could be the one that starts a cancer or emphysema. Any way cigarettes get you, is a horrible way to die.

It's not the same because with a gun you can kill a person right away. Harm done! Now you can't forbid a person from crossing you on the street while smoking because that brief instant doesn't do the harm itself, instead you will develop cancer by prolongued exposure to smoke. Personally i think "forbid for you own good" always comes with some tyrany... Would you like a law against going to the beach during Summer? That's where people get skin cancer and they know it... think about it.

Why be depressed about alopecia, you've got bigger fish to fry? I feel really bad for those who have cancer, unless it's caused by a poor lifestyle choice, such as smoking or chewing, in those cases, especially the ones that occured AFTER it was widely known that such activities caused cancer, I have no sympathy. To those before data was widely available, It's a shame that these companies were and still are allowed to cause this disease LEGALLY. My sympathy goes to those involuntarily affected.
