Kerry made a factual observation. The Army actively recruits poor, undereducated young people who are hoping for an 'escape' or a better way of life or simply an opportunity out. Educated young people are not signing up as readily to the Armed Forces. So yes - you either work hard and get an education or you end up in the army. My comment is in no way a negative reflection on those who believe it is their duty to join, but a sad fact of reality.

Thats true. One of the most ironic things that I liked about america it that you used to be able to burn flags and not get into trouble because it was self expression. Unfortunatly now with the patriot act it can be concided an act of terrorism and you can be arrested with out a warrent and held without being told why.
