En fait, je n'aime pas les journaux à scandales et je ne les lis pas, par contre, je suis abonnée à Opéra Magazine, dans lequel elle a répondu à une interview il y a quelques mois. Ses réponses étaient infectes et très égoïstes. De plus, lorsqu'elle était invitée dans une émission radio, fidèle à elle-même, elle fut arrogante et méprisante avec le journaliste. Malgré sa très belle voix, ça ne donne pas vraiment envie de la connaître en dehors de la scène.

Très belle voix sucrée, mais personnage détestable. Dommage, car le talent n'égale pas forcément mauvais caractère. C'est bête qu'elle soit si méprisante dans la vie, parce-qu'elle a l'air d'un ange et sa voix est d'une exceptionnelle douceur.

It's funny to read the endless soprano discussions on youtube. Why even bother to debate who the better singer is. Just listen to the one YOU like the most and enjoy that. That's what I do. I prefer Gheorghiu as Tosca rather than Callas, but I blame the rather poor sounding recordings I own, rather than voice. Both do/did however have great dramatic skill which I utterly enjoy. :-)

I purchased this film recently (Tosca, 2001; release 2002). As a film I enjoyed it very much and the wonderful voice of Gheorghiu I can never get enough of. However, it is really only a film with the true singers' voices dubbed afterwards and for this reason I find the performances of the characters insincere or phony (if one studies their mouths, the lip synching is quite obvious). I would have preferred Gheorghiu singing this role onstage, but this is better than nothing.

This is the first time I've ever listened to this song and I found Angela Aki's live performance of it deeply moving! The lyrics is sooo good that I almost cry, because it seems to have touched my soul. The way she plays the piano and sings simply shows how much she loves music. I really love her work and her performance! She doesn't need any glamorous outfit, her passion for music and her talent are enough to enchant and fascinate all of us. Oh, how I admire her!
