I loved this game.. but then again I didn't bother about the sound/graphics, it was all about beating the game. One day I found a pattern you could move in where the ghosts simply couldn't catch you. On a later stage when they got alot faster, you could 'trap' them in the up/down doorways. I trapped them there and went for dinner after playing a couple of hours. Either way, at 999,999 points the game reset points but ghost speed was the same. THAT was disappointing, no reward, no high score.

_____Enduro Racer is a pretty grim game, if you think about it. The horizon looks like some kind of post-nuclear wasteland and what-not. When playing that thing as a kid, I used to think the guy in the car was at the risk of dying of radiation poisoning or some crap. He had to make it to some safe land or whatever before dying and what-not. Forget about all of those other idiots who were too slow to make it. You just had to make YOUR guy make it. Or so I believed.

That's cool! I have an Activision iron-on patch. It's for Grand Prix. I don't get sentimental about most things, but this patch is one of my most cherished possessions. I played that game EVERY DAY after school. I had a pattern memorized for the 4th level. Activision games were so much fun to play! They forced Atari to make better games. Jaguar was and is the shit Tempest 2000 alone is worth the system. The cool factor of owning a fuckin Atari system from the 90s is also good. Atari was an innovative company in many ways, making the first laptop style comps and with the Atari Jaguar. They had the innovation and tech, just didn't have the right marketing muscle and execution of the idea. I was playing Atari Jaguar probably while this dude was in diapers, so what does he know about the period - zilch.
