Naomi Wolf is wrong about there being "democracy" in Germany. Right after WW1 and right before Hitler Germany was an Oligarchy, not a democracy - very similar to third world countries in South America. This oligarchy created the worst economic depresion in the history of man! The people, desprate, elected the rise of Hitler. Hitler did impose a police state but only persicuted the ethnic Jews. He did not harm ethnic Germans in fact he saved the economy, suprisingly.

It is sad that she comes close but misses the point. If she thinks that this whole process began or ends with any leader she is forgetting what she herself said about "and by the way this is driven by a profit motive, you know, America isn't driven by ideologies like Germany or Italy were...(27:28-27:35)". If this problem is one of our leadership then why do we see this type of behavior clear back in 1917.

Most Americans have no clue of what is happening. They are too busy with working, taking care of their families, etc. Then they flip on TV to ingest mindless reality garbage or propaganda masked as "news" -- the recent fake FEMA press conference was a blatant example -- the rest is more covert. Also, some people simply don't care and they won't know what they had until it is gone. It's happenly slowly and insidiously as not to have people notice.

Isn't it ironic that Ms. Wolf is uses Step 1 so expertly: Scare them to death about the terrifying internal threat (in this case the current administration) in order to attack the opposing ideology. This shows that fear is an equal opportunity propaganda tool. Fascism? Just wait until the left is back in power -- and watch how many executive powers _they_ relinquish.

What a great talk. She really hits it home, except for Guliani being the next bad guy. It has been clear for years that Hillary is the next person to continue down this path. Actually, any front runner is bad. The only 3 candidates who won't sell the constitution down the river are Ron Paul, Chris Dodd and Kucinich. Hillary has the most money from the military industrial complex by far.
