One for the NES that I grew up playing and loved was Gun.Smoke. It's a western-themed game, though, so you're a cowboy, not a soldier. As for the Genesis... I guess T2: The Arcade Game is the closest thing to a first or third person shooter that I can think of, but, it's not one of my favorites.

Not sure if you ever played them but you should try out Shining Force 1 and 2 for Gen. I have always liked those ones. Masters of Monsters is good but only if you play with friends. There is a game I have been trying to find but I can't remember its name ( Making it difficult for me to find it ) combat is turn based. You have X amount of guys you can control.. you can semi explore planets,spacestations, and fight in space.. just cant remember its name..

It's a first person shooting game and is based on the first Rambo movie. I sold my original Sega Genesis back in 1995 or 1996. I bought another one about 5 years ago and have been looking for the game (Rambo) but haven't been able to find it yet.

Ive been playing big time on the snes , super metroid , donkey kong country 1,2,3 and castlevania 4 . And got out my dreamcast the other day and playing for a while on powert stone 2. But bloodlines ive been playing it on the nomad in bed which is awsome.
