You have to go online, I'm afraid. Nintendo hates the slot-1's, R4 hates the clones and their competitors and a lot of people think that they're illegal anyway so it's difficult. All I can say is just use your search engine. Be careful though, some clones are a ripoff so, go visit the R4 forums- they've got pictures of the clones up there. On any slot-1: I can only vouch for the version III because I've had one for a while now and the original R4 because they're the oldest- so, the most proven.

The different "versions" with more gig are clones. The R4 Team has declared that all R4's that have ever been built by them are only compatable with up to 2 gigs and that they WILL NOT change that. Personally? I'm happy with my vIII clone, couldn't care less and would even recommend it as the better choice, but some people want the no-holds-bar "real deal," and I have to admit that not knowing the origin of your slot-1 can lead to confusion on which directions to follow when it comes to set up.

It depends on what type of slot-1 you're running. The original and valid R4 can only handle up to 2 gigs. The vIII clone can handle between 4 and 32 gigs. The CycloDS Evolution is reported to handle micros with higher gigs as well but I don't know how much it can handle or even how much they cost compared to the R4 or it's clones.

Not a problem. A lot of people just toss out terms and forget that everyone has to come across it for that first time and not instantly know what it means. LOL, in fact it took me a little while to figure it out myself the first time I came across the term in the instructions too:) (While I can't speak to the real R4, I know that the instructions to my vIII were really badly written that way- which led to a learning curve that took about a week for me to figure it all out.)

'Root of the micro CD' just means that it's at the top and not in any folders. Just connect the CD, go to "My Computer" and when the window pops up, click the microCD. The blank screen that pops up is the root directory.

Actually, some of them do work just fine- or, in at least one opinion (mine) better. I personally much prefer my vIII because it's compatable with 4GB to 32 GBs and, since my 4GB is constantly filling up on me, there's just no WAY I'd be able to downgrade to only 2gigs:)

Check the files on the micro SD disk. It sounds like something got removed. Maybe you can try saving your games to your computer and copying over the files again. That might work.

1 of two things. 1) You have the wrong sized microcard. The real R4 doesn't work with anything larger then 2 GB. 2) You actually have a clone. If it came with a disk, just use the files that came from there. The website's files won't work on it but the disk files almost always do.

When I was a kid and didn't know where to get house dj sets. I played this game!!!! haha funny. My cousin and I would play this game, he would always get mad when I would spend 3 minutes deciding which track to listen to before the race. The best ever as far as video games. I beat the last level just to hear this last track over and over again. Years later I'm dj'ng in clubs, and banging out fresh vibe tracks on Live. :)

That's what I want to know. I ordered the Metal version as a backup for when i'm sniping or I run out of ammo with my Echo 1 G36C. I think that the Metal version will most likely be sturdier and harder to break. If you trip over something while running I think you will be much happier that you have the Metal version than the plastic version.

I bought an R4 off an auction website the other day, still waiting for it to arrive. I won the auction and then realised afterward that it was being listed as SDHC capable, which a lot of people are saying means its a fake. Ive got a problem with my R4 and Micro SD. when i put it on my ds it says 'Couldn't find _DS_MENU.DAT poeple are saying u have to unpack it in the 'root dictionary' but i dont no what the hell that is and anything. when i downloaded the update thing for R4 and unpacked it onto my usb thigo for ds i couldnt find anything called root dictionary help me please!

Do not purchase anything with the R4 logo on it.Nintendo has filed a lawsuit against the R4 team and they have stopped production of the R4 and updating of the firmware all together.This means that you might not be able to play future releases on the R4 without the firmware updates. If you're looking into buying a flash cart go with a M3 Real, CycloDs, or something other than the R4.

this is a very good piece of tech for your ds...basicly if you buy this and a micro SD card to go with it you wont have to pay for your nintendo ds games anymore! you just use roms,drag and drop on the memory card and play! i highly recommend this and a good 2GB micro SD memory card to go with it.
