To me it's a take on the biblical story, but with a different ending. God tags Samson to take out the Philist., but he cannot cut or shave his hair. He falls in love with Delilah, who tests him nightly to find the source of his strength, on the final night she cuts his hair, and his strength is lost. I think she's singing it as: what if Samson didn't destroy the Philist. in his final hour? "He couldn't bring the columns down, and history books forgot about us, andthe bible didn't mention us.."

Thanks for the post. To me that makes the most sense (together with the comment of EcoColonel08). The exhaustion of chemo would explain the section Samson went back to bedback to bed. Anyway, it doesnt matter if this is the true explanation. For me it makes the song even more beautiful.

Yes, that is the story of Sampson and Delilah. The one we read in the bible. Regina is giving us a diffrent version. A version where you are able to sympathise with the antagonist. It is a beautiful song. Thanks for opening, at least afew eyes, Regina.

That is what Regina is saying but i think it is wrong. This song depicts Samson as a horrid player, but he was actually quite the opposite. Samson was honored by God because of his blameless character. In the story of Samson and Delilah,they fall in love but delilah is decieving him to find out why he is so strong. She is not the victim here, she seduced him. She is the oppressor. God would not honor a man corrupted by sin.
