too bad those battlestar galactica ships would be like lawn darts. Lawn darts with rockets on them.

THE F1-11 has an escape module just like the one in the film clips, and it was designed over 30 years ago.

The first one looks like from the movie "Day 6". The second from Batterstar Galactica? I have not seen the other one. The dogfighting look cool near the end, but the idea of having a flyable escape module looks nice in SciFi, but probably impractical to build in a real plane.

The 2012 thing is based off of the ending of the mayan calander. Some people think its the end of the world, some believe that some major event is going to happen, others think that the mayans just decided to stop there.

I am an aeronautical engineer actually. My point is that sci-fi has less to do with reality and more to do with the fashions of the time. You notice it in particular watching something like "Thunderbirds" from the 1960s - everything looks hopelessly out of date even though it's meant to be futuristic. Artists aren't engineers but there are some who are wired into engineering. I notice many Japanese artists work hard to get things looking feasible for example.

dude, there SPACE CRAFT. in space a brick would be as fast as an F22 raptor if it weighed the same and had the same engine. theres no air in space to create resistance/ friction.

i think if it was built it would use the rotars for take off and landing as seen in the vid and use its wings at high speed and like the theory make something go fast enough it will fly lol
By: jabo109k. on 31 Aug 08, 18:05:41
I mean I don't think you can create sufficient lift to make the helicopter fly. The proportions do not seem right. But nice vid...gave it 5 ;)
By: EW0Canuk. on 31 Aug 08, 13:39:00
wat do you mean with that wing

I like how the "Vampire Jets had Canadian Airforce markings. Not our fault we have the best pilots.
